Precision AirConvey partnered with Avery Dennison at the substrate supplier’s Miamisburg, OH, USA, facility. Avery Dennison sought a more efficient and sustainable way to manage trim waste while also supporting its broader goals for landfill reduction, energy efficiency, and employee well-being.

PAC installed a fully integrated trim removal system at Avery Dennison Miamisburg. The unit was designed to handle high-speed operations and synthetic materials without disrupting production. PAC engineered the system to improve waste handling efficiency while reducing noise, energy usage, and maintenance challenges on the plant floor.

Avery Dennison’s previous trim handling system frequently caused production interruptions— particularly during synthetic material jobs—leading to lost labor time, reduced uptime, and unnecessary strain on operators.

Avery Dennison saw significant results with the installation. The PAC setup eliminated press stoppages during synthetic material runs and enabled faster production speeds without compromising performance. Meanwhile, Avery Dennison estimated 900 labor hours saved by reducing downtime and manual intervention. The company also improved equipment uptime compared to the previous trim handling system.

From a sustainability standpoint, Avery Dennison increased diversion of trim waste from landfill, with more material converted to energy through pelletization. Plus, Avery Dennison reduced facility electricity consumption through PAC’s energy-efficient equipment while also replacing silicone lubrication with food-grade mineral oil. These moves support safer and more environmentally responsible operations.

Avery Dennison’s employees have benefited, as well. Noise levels reduced by approximately 8 decibels, creating a noticeably quieter production floor. In addition, the PAC system improved air quality through the integration of 48 HEPA filters. By enhancing overall working conditions, Avery Dennison reinforced its commitment to its people and facility.

“We’re excited to see Avery Dennison realizing these kinds of results so quickly,” says Marco Acevedo, regional sales manager, Precision AirConvey. “It’s rewarding to support an industry leader that prioritizes sustainability and production efficiency. Their team is setting a great example of how to future-proof operations with smart, sustainable technology.” The upgraded trim removal system reflects Avery Dennison’s commitment to continuous improvement—balancing sustainability, productivity, and employee well-being without sacrificing performance.
